Stitched Ecoprint on Cradled Board "Autumn by Carol Ann Webster
In early summer, millions of tiny yellow wildflowers—tickseed—show up in pastures and along the roads in central Oklahoma. They’re one of my favorite flowers to ecoprint with, always giving rich yellows, warm oranges, and rust tones that feel like sunshine held on paper. This 4x6-inch piece started as an ecoprint on paper of tickseed from my garden. I added a layer of printed text in the background. French knots were stitched by hand using embroidery floss for detail and a touch of color. The edges are finished with gold leaf that catches the light just enough. It’s mounted on a cradled board with D-rings and coated wire on the back—ready to hang or sit on a shelf and bring a natural presence to your space.
