Botanical Impression "Four Coreopsis in a Bunch" Original Art by Carol Ann Webster Artist

An original botanical impression using the ecoprint on paper process. You can see the colors have bled through the paper on both sides during the pressure and steam needed to make a botanical impression using fresh flowers and leaves from my garden. I’ve added embroidery stitches and tiny beads to highlight the colors and detail on the paper. The botanical impression is 140 lb watercolor paper and colors are what occur during the ecoprint process. The approximately 4×6 watercolor paper is mounted with acid-free tape to the back of an 8×10 white mat. Each of my botanical impressions is an original.

"Homestead" Tea Bag Art on Barnwood by Carol Ann Webster Artist

10"x10"x1" Available HERE

This one-of-a-kind piece brings together rusted tea bag paper, stitched fabric, and scraps of story. Centered in the composition is one of my own photographs—an old home place that brings my family’s homestead to mind. Above it, tiny blackbirds take flight beneath clouds made of rusted cheesecloth. The tea bag sits on a piece of worn pillow ticking, its faded blue stripes giving the piece of sense of home and history. Everything is mounted on weathered barnwood—cut, sanded, and framed by a local artisan here in Oklahoma. I used brass tacks to secure the fabric to the wood, leaving the materials visible and honest. This piece is wired and ready to hang. It would feel at home in a rustic space, a cozy studio, or anywhere that welcomes quiet texture and memory.

Stitched Ecoprint on Cradled Board "Autumn by Carol Ann Webster

In early summer, millions of tiny yellow wildflowers—tickseed—show up in pastures and along the roads in central Oklahoma. They’re one of my favorite flowers to ecoprint with, always giving rich yellows, warm oranges, and rust tones that feel like sunshine held on paper. This 4x6-inch piece started as an ecoprint on paper of tickseed from my garden. I added a layer of printed text in the background. French knots were stitched by hand using embroidery floss for detail and a touch of color. The edges are finished with gold leaf that catches the light just enough. It’s mounted on a cradled board with D-rings and coated wire on the back—ready to hang or sit on a shelf and bring a natural presence to your space.
